Free Crappy Portraits!

Here's something you may be interested in! The idea is so amazing, I just couldn't help but post about it.
You send them a photo of you, with a detailed comment about things you may or may not be interested in - they take time to draw it with crayons and amazing pencils...
And send it back to you!
I discovered these guys via a coupon/freebie site that I am signed up with.
So they posted this as a "fun" gag type freebie and I was right on it.

I submitted my own photo only yesterday so I'm unaware as to when I'll receive it back..
They have a "We don't guarantee when" type policy which makes the suspense all the better!

You can check them out HERE. They have a sweet "best of" gallery that you should take a look through. Can also get ideas of the awesomeness you should write in the comment section to get the best photo back possible!

Amazing! I can't wait to see what they did with my photo talking about Turkeys, guitar, Turtles and much more!

I'll update you guys when I receive mine back.

The beginning of my steampunk era!

So today I decided that I was going to start piecing together some jewelry. I have had hoards of things to create with for months now - I've just been more focused on my paintings themselves.
Oh ya - and my little art boxes that I was making too.

But anyways - I decided that I wanted to make a pin I was debating about for awhile now.
This specific one is for my man as he's been stoked to have one!

I have been winning auctions on ebay for parts to make these + finding things at thrift stores.

The photos aren't the greatest - as I'm only relying on my camera phone as of right now.

But it's pretty exciting to have finally banged out the first one!

Hopefully I'll have more items arriving in the mail to make bigger/better things that will be for sale in my online store eventually!

litebritedeath/Ether Rag

One artist that I've always been drawn to is Ether Rag. Also known as litebritedeath in some of his earlier work.
He's a prime example of how to flow your feelingss and thoughts into a piece of art that can be enjoyed by many.
He got his start when he was dealing with personal issues and found his way through it by using paint markers and boards to express himself.

He's done many pieces that are painted at art festivals to be auctioned/sold for charity in and around his home town in Kansas, USA.

Constantly using new programs and means to make his art - it is constantly evolving and you'll never find him sticking to the same theme/style for each painting.
His characters expressions are ones that you can relate to - as the feelings behind them are so sincere, raw and real that you can't help but think you've felt the same way before.

I've thoroughly enjoyed almost each piece of art that has come from his mind and soul.

It's what I like to call "true art". Although each opinion of what that is is completely different.
